ALL VINYL, ALL NIGHT with…
Disco by FunkStick Resident DJ Connie Kway-Lewd and Guest Gaudy God Upstairs
Catch Gaudy God spinning Disco, Nu-Disco, and hi-NRG from 8:30-10:30pm
Matt Kasin is Chicago’s Gaudy God, a fashion designer, DJ, filmmaker, and vintage curator who is extravagantly bright and showy, typically so as to be tasteless.
If you’ve ever been to any of the amazing programming at the Music Box Lounge such as Music Box Bingo or caught one of his performances or DJ sets before a midnight screening of a campy movie, you’ve had a chance to experience some of Gaudy God’s magic. He also is one of the folks who helped uncover the forgotten 1970s Sapphic history of the Lounge. (Check out Gerber Hart's Unboxing Queer History podcast episode featuring the voices of folks who were there.)
This one is a familiar face at FunkStick and has been such a strong supporter of the party since the very beginning. I’m beyond excited that at long last he will be sharing music with us.
